Fresh Roots Jazz
The great Jazz players of the future are hidden in plain sight. Educated in the music’s tradition, steeped in contemporary influences and with chops to burn, these are important voices that need to be heard. Their day jobs include session work, playing behind pop stars and composing for websites. The Festival brings a selection of significant voices out of the digital shadows of My Space pages and into the bright lights of the Marina Pavilion for a one-of-a-kind concert of thrilling discoveries.

This noon presentation will feature Queztal Guerrero and the Warriors. With a background of Native American, Brazilian and Mexican, this musician plays many styles and instruments from violin, guitar as well as percussion and voice. His music is a convergence of Salsa, Yoruba, Brazilian, Jazz, Soul and a host of other styles.
