Kamyar and DJ Arin
Grand Performances was delighted to host worldwide Iranian-born pianist and pop singer Kamyar, as well as a spectacular opening set by DJ Arin, in collaboration with the Farhang Foundation, which supports Iranian art and culture.
The Grand Performances venue was crowded with star-struck attendees as the event included an extended night of dancing and singing along to Persian pop star Kamyar. The night began with a special opening performance by the incredible DJ Arin, who set the tone for a wild night. Arin Babaian has been a professional DJ for over 12 years and has produced several songs and remixes in addition to performing at some of the most prominent parties and events from Tehran to Los Angeles.
Following DJ Arin's opening set, Kamyar presented a dynamic and upbeat performance that enthralled the spectators. Kamyar Ahmadzadeh 'KamyR' was born in Tehran and is a well-known Persian performer and lyricist. Kamyar was born and reared in France, where he discovered his passion for music, inspiring him to join the Music Conservatory School and learn to play the piano. Soon after, he moved to the United States and became a member of the iconic Black Cats Band. Currently, Kamyar is focused on his bright career as an solo artist, devoting his time to providing his audience breathtaking performances.
The audience was soon filling up the grass patch with blankets and picnics that they had prepared ahead of time, while more and more people began to fill the benches and pathways of Grand Central Plaza in anticipation of Kamyar's performance! The night was so raucous that the Grand Performances film and production crews had trouble keeping up with Kamyar's motions as he was engulfed with his audience. The pop sensation illuminated the audience with such an exciting environment that the audience had a hard time staying seated.
Overall, Kamyar and DJ Arin's fans were ecstatic with their memorable performance and couldn't stop cheering and applauding at the conclusion of the night. Family and friends of all ages shared a special moment for which Grand Performance is grateful. Saturday's event was truly exceptional, highlighting how music can inspire our community, celebrate diversity, and connect our beautiful city.
