Madison McFerrin

Grand Performances was blessed to have three powerhouse female performer grace our stage last Saturday, each imbuing the night with soulfulness and depth.

DJ Kita set the mood to vibey with an exceptionally curated soul set. She effortlessly blended R&B legends of the past like Bobby Caldwell and Slave mingled with modern acts like SZA and Erykah Badu. With the heat of the day winding down and evening creeping in, hers was the perfect music to ease into.

Next the Australian rocker Milan Ring brought us immaculate electronica-tinged rock grooves. Wielding a guitar, loopers and effects pads, she was a literal one woman band. With raw and emotionally honest lyrics and cool layered beats that she constructed on the fly, she quickly won over the audience.

Madison McFerrin built upon the mood. Backed by her very skilled band, the soul singer showed her full repertoire as an artist: uptempo dance tracks, romantic ballads, event electro funk. Through it all, her voice soared and she commanded the stage. Madison let the audience into her perspectives and personal life through honest and engaging banter in between songs. Her talent and charm are a formidable mix, and we’re excited to see where her career goes next. In a final gesture of pure class and grace, Madison stayed after the show was over to meet fans and pose for photos and sign autographs.
