DannyLux is one of the young promising stars in the world of Mexican music and has collaborated with artists like Cuco, Los Aptos, Gabito Ballesteros, Estevie, and Eslabón Armado on the successful song "Jugaste y Sufri," which reached #1 on the Billboard Latin Songwriters Chart. He recently received his first BMI Award and a nomination for the Latin American Music Awards for this song.

The artist is about to release "DLUX" an album that includes 17 captivating songs about love and heartbreak, mostly written by himself with different collaborators. In this album, DannyLux boldly ventures and experiments with a wide range of sounds, from the emotional Sierreño guitars that have characterized him, to vibrant shades of pop, tropical, and alternative, showcasing great versatility in his sound and maturity in his lyrics. The album includes notable collaborations with talented artists like Eslabón Armado, Gabito Ballesteros, Cuco, Yami Safdie, Maye, Jordin Sheallheart, Pablo Hurtado (Camila), and Melvin War.

Born Daniel Balderrama in Palm Springs, California, the young phenomenon is the son of Mexican immigrants and was raised on the transcendent catalogs of legendary rock acts such as The Beatles, The Eagles, Ritchie Valens, Maná and Juanes. At the age of 7 he discovered music was his passion after his father, a garbage truck driver, brought home a guitar he found in the trash.

But it was the alluring sounds of Ariel Camacho, as well as those of the surging corrido tumbado movement, crafted at the hands of groundbreaking acts like Eslabon Armado and Porte Diferente, that sparked the unquenchable desire within him to build a career in music for himself and write his own songs.

Following his passion, he began to establish his presence on social media at the age of 15, and after finding himself torn over which song to record as a cover for TikTok, the self-taught musician penned his first original song to share instead. Titled “24:7,” the song became a massive hit, going viral with nearly 10 million global Spotify streams, and aptly showcased his prodigious raw talent while serving as a compelling preview of what this superstar in the making had yet to offer.

After signing with VPS Music, in January 2021, DannyLux released his debut album “Las Dos Caras Del Amor,” garnering widespread attention, and by September, he hit #1 on Billboard’s Latin Songwriters chart with Eslabon Armado’s collaboration on “Jugaste y Sufrí,” becoming his first charting entry as an artist or songwriter.

After building extraordinary upward momentum the year before, the rising sensation began 2022 on an exhilarating high note, announcing his signing to Warner Music Latina and releasing his acclaimed second studio album “Perdido En Ti,” which immediately hit No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top Latin Albums chart. Soon after the album’s release, he opened for globally renowned rock band Coldplay in Mexico alongside Latin Grammy Award-winning artist Carla Morrison.

In September 2022, the gifted artist made a significant impact at one of the most important events in Latin music, the iconic Billboard Latin Music Week, where he represented the new generation of regional Mexican artists on the panel “The Next Mexican Revolution.”

The artist kicked off 2023 with the announcement of his debut Coachella Music Festival, nominations to Premio Lo Nuestro , Latin American Music Awards, and received his first BMI Latin Music Award for his song “Jugaste y Sufri” with Eslabon Amado.

One of Billboard’s 2022 Latin Artists to Watch, at the age of 19, DannyLux is ascending as one of the most prominent figures in regional Mexican music.

Presented in partnership with Warner Music Latina and VPS Music.
