Garrett Saracho is a fourth generation Los Angeleno of San Carlos Apache and Mexican descent, with a recording output that spans genres, labels, and decades. Perhaps best known for the mysterious 1973 LP "En Medio", he has recorded numerous other projects that blend pop, electronic, r&b, and indigenous music traditions.

Garrett (Saracho) is a product of LA's vital Jazz underground who went on to win a Frank Sinatra Music Award while at UCLA and later signed a record deal with Impulse! Records. After his first record, he decided to move on from a solo career as a musician. In the Summer of 2021: Jazz Is Dead brought Garrett out to the studio to record new music with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Garrett Saracho JID015, his first new album in the spotlight since his 1973 debut. Garrett will perform the iconic music of "En Medio", along with outtakes, rarities, and brand new material. The Jazz Is Dead crew will host and DJ.

"This concert is bigger than me or my music," Saracho says. "It's my tribute to Los Angeles - the city of my father, my uncle, my family, the city that raised me, and so many others whose stories need to be told.”
