Fania Records opened its vaults to famous NY House / Dance / Amibent DJ Joaquin "Joe" Claussel and his six-piece band, giving them leeway to remix and create a new vibe for classic recordings by such Latin Funk / Salsa / Merengue greats as, Mongo Santamaria, Ray Barretto and Celia Cruz. Palenke Soultribe opens with its mix of Electronica, Pop, Rock and Colombian Folk sounds, all driven by turntables and looped laptop grooves.
