MEXICO: UNEXPECTED

  • Grand Performances 350 South Grand Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 90071 United States (map)

Guadalajara’s PAJARO DE NUBE is still scheduled to perform as the sole presenter at the Mexico Unexpected two-night event, a program initially created to showcase our Southern neighbor’s vibrant contemporary performing arts scene.

Grand Performances regrets to announce that BRUJERIAS DE PAPEL will not perform in our MEXICO UNEXPECTED event, taking place Thursday and Friday, July 12 & 13, 2012 @ 8pm. Despite the relentless efforts by Grand Performances’ immigration lawyer, the company was unable to secure the visas necessary to join us for the performances. Grand Performances is committed to bringing this company to Los Angeles and expects to program them as part of the 2013 season

This program showcases a dance company that, by fusing international art forms with Mexican influences, exemplify our Southern neighbor’s vibrant contemporary performing arts scene. Guadalajara-based Pájaro de Nube explores the experimental language of music and dance, capturing the surreal by juxtaposing the measured movements of Japanese Butoh with live soundscapes.
