Job Title  

SOCIAL MEDIA ASSOCIATE

Reports to: 

Marketing and Design Manager 

Job Details:  

The Social Media Associate is a part-time, seasonal position responsible for assisting with the development, execution, and maintenance of Grand Performances (GP) marketing strategies and social media campaigns in order to generate and sustain audiences, and promote the organization’s brand reputation with funders, partners, media and general public. Non-exempt status.  

Duties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following): 

●  Assists with all GP Marketing and Communications activities, including development of brand strategies and implementation  of marketing plan.  

●  Maintains a detailed marketing calendar for all upcoming events.   

●  Gathers promotional materials and organizes database of collateral.  

●  Manages day-to-day posts on social media campaigns across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tiktok, etc.   
●  Develops and executes strategies for social media growth.  

●  Creates and manages digital and traditional advertising campaigns.   

●  Composes weekly GP newsletter in Mailchimp.   

●  Maintains up-to-date info on GP website via Squarespace.  

●  Ensures that artists, sponsors, and other partners continually promote upcoming events using approved marketing copy,  graphics, links etc.  

●  Manages day-to-day relationships with independent marketing, social media, PR, graphic design, and communications  consultants.  

●  Assists with coordinating the documentation of events and organizes a database of audio/visual content for post production.   

●  Administers audience engagement initiatives and surveys.  

●  Supports Grand Performances’ brand and builds strong relationships/partnerships with community partners for purposes of cross promotion and audience development that lead to measurable outcomes.  

●  Facilitates copy writing in communications materials including press releases, social media, advertisements, newsletters, etc.  

●  In coordination with Development Department, it ensures that sponsors and donors are receiving appropriate recognition on  marketing materials, including recognition for grant fulfillment.    

●  Assists in managing relationships with vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and other partners   

●  Develops and maintains systems for measuring and tracking effectiveness of marketing campaigns and produces monthly  marketing reports highlighting recent success and identifying areas for potential improvement.  

Qualifications:  

  • Passion for Grand Performances’ mission  

  • Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies. A minimum of two years’ experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of newsletters, press releases, annual reports, marketing literature, and other print publications and directories  

  • Excellent organizational, planning, scheduling and analytical skills  

  • Extensive successful writing and editing experience with a variety of print and online communications media 

  • Up to date with current social media trends 

  •  Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized  

  • Innovative thinker; must be self-motivated  

  • Excellent and persuasive communicator; exceptional written, oral and presentation skills  

  • Capability to adapt swiftly to the rapid pace and evolving demands of the industry.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills; collaborative quality  

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, board and guests 

  • Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays and substitute when needed.

  • Performs other duties as required as assigned.  

  •  Graphic design skills a plus

Software skills:

  • Meta Business Suite

  • CapCut

  • Canva

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe CC (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator) or equivalent digital media editing software a plus.

Physical requirements:  

  • Frequently communicates with artists, vendors, and staff in person, on the telephone, and computer to provide assistance.   

  • Frequently stands and walks.   

  • Frequently stoops, kneels, bends, and reaches, pulls and pushes.  

  • Frequently lifts objects weighing up to twenty pounds when moving equipment and supplies.   

  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment.   

  • Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.  

PAY RATE: $20/hour

Job Title  

MARKETING INTERNSHIP

DESCRIPTION:

An integral member of the creative services team, the Marketing Intern will focus on MARKETING AND PUBLICITY for Grand Performances’ 2024 summer programming at California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles. They will develop a foundational understanding of marketing and advertising across both digital and traditional outlets for a wide variety of global artists representing a diverse array of genres. They will also engage potential GP community partners to promote programming to existing audiences, help identify new audiences, and cultivate relationships with community groups interested in our programming. This position will work between 30-40 hours per week from June 3 - August 31, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current undergraduate student - Available to work evenings and weekends at performances - Creative, proactive, highly organized, computer literate, outgoing, and adaptable - Possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills - Social Media experience: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat - Experience with Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite programs - Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Drive and Dropbox is a plus - Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks in a timely manner - Professional demeanor when interacting with staff, technicians, volunteers, patrons, and artists.

Job Title  

COMMUNITY AND DONOR RELATIONS INTERNSHIP

DESCRIPTION:

The Community and Donor Relations Intern will focus on AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT for Grand Performances’ 2024 summer programming at California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles. They are a key member of the development team, assisting in both administrative and live event work. They will support the organization’s efforts to build donor and community audiences, maintain development databases, and create multimedia content to promote the membership program. This position will work between 30 - 40 hours per week from June 3 – August 31, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current undergraduate student - Available to work evenings and weekends at performances - Creative, proactive, highly organized, computer literate, outgoing, and adaptable - Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills - Basic knowledge of photo editing (Photoshop, Canva), video editing (Adobe Premier, iMovie), social media (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok), and web (WordPress, blogging) preferred. - Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Drive and Dropbox is a plus - Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks in a timely manner - Professional demeanor when interacting with staff, technicians, volunteers, patrons, and artists
