GP KICKS OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON
Free Daytime Programs at California Plaza on Select December Dates
Grand Performances, the longest-running presenter of high- quality free programs in downtown LA, kicks off the holiday season with a festive Holiday performance lineup at California Plaza. The free daytime programs on select December dates will unite communities and celebrate diversity through performances covering various genres, including Latinx, soul and rock, among others.
“Grand Performances is bringing together local artists to present a Los Angeles flavored holiday cheer to the plaza for guests to enjoy during this festive time of the year,” said Mari Riddle, Executive Director, Grand Performances.

Tuesday, December 4 at 11:45 – 1:15 p.m. at the Spiral Court
Mostly Kosher, the acclaimed klezmer gypsy-rock band radically reconstructs Judaic and American cultural music through ravenous klezmer beats and arresting Yiddish refrains. Most importantly, this band is fun.

The Altons
Wednesday, December 12 at 11:45 – 1:15 p.m. at Grand Ave.
The amazing local band, The Altons bring a Latin-inspired soul rock sound to kick off the holiday celebrations. Tasty guitars, sultry vocals, and danceable rhythms will make your lunch hour better than you knew it could be.

Urban Voices Project
Thursday, December 13 at 11:45 – 1:15 p.m. at California Plaza
Urban Voices Project, this ensemble brings the healing power of music directly to individuals disenfranchise by homelessness, mental health issues, and unemployment in the Great Los Angeles area. Eight carolers will move about the plaza so keep your ears and eyes open for their joyous melodies.

David Garza
Tuesday, December 18 at 11:45 – 1:15 p.m. at The Cabaret Stage
Celebrate the holidays in a lunchtime Posada as David Garza and his ensemble accompany, a host of guest vocalists, including Nina Diaz and Hope Wright, to lead friends and family in seasonal favorites from around the world. From Cumbia to Swing with a dash of distinctly DTLA Rock 'n' Roll, this upbeat show is not to be missed!
